Name (Age): Craig M. Seybolt (25)

Company/Title: Glens Falls National Bank & Trust Co., Corporate Banking Officer

Family: wife Antoinette, child, Madelyn born October 4, 2009

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Plattsburgh State University (2007), and South Glens Falls High School (2003)

Brief Resume: In May 2007 after graduating from Plattsburgh State, I took a Management Trainee position at Glens Falls National Bank in Plattsburgh. However in September 2008 I was given the opportunity to move into the Commercial Credit Department in Glens Falls as a Credit Analyst. I remained in this capacity until May 2010 when I was promoted to my current position as a Corporate Banking Officer.

What do you do? As a Corporate Banking Officer my primary responsibility is to meet the financing needs of local businesses. These needs include lines of credit for working capital, short term loans for equipment purchases, and/or long term loans for the purchase of real estate or the expansion of existing facilities. In addition to this, it is also my job to assist businesses in all aspects of their banking relationship including deposit accounts and/or trust and investments.

Community Involvement: Member of the Board of Directors for the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the ARCC Young Professionals Organization, Member of the Adirondack Region Steering Committee for Junior Achievement, and Campaign Committee Chair for the Tri County United Way.

Hobbies: High-arc softball, watching football and spending time with family

Career aspiration in high school: In High School I always aspired to be a high school physical education teacher, but at some point I must have decided that I didn’t want to wear gym shorts every day, play sports for a living and have summers off. Wait a second…

First job: Washing dishes at Massie’s Restaurant

How did you become a banker? Near the end of my college career I was still debating whether to pursue further education or to head into the workforce. The opportunity with Glens Falls National came my way and I couldn’t give it up considering how great of a company I heard it was to work for. Three years later that statement couldn’t be more correct.

Five years from now I will be: wondering where the years went as my daughter enters kindergarten

Favorite Quote: “Many hands make light work”

Favorite Book: The Difference Maker by John Maxwell

Why do you choose to work/live in area? This is the area I grew up in and this is where my family and friends are. Nothing means more to me than enjoying a nice dinner with family or a sporting event with friends. Although we don’t make the same money as someone in the city would, I’m home at a reasonable time every evening and get weekends and holidays off.

Favorite restaurant: The Stadium Café in Saratoga Springs or Davidson Brothers in downtown Glens Falls…it’s a toss up

What would you change/add about area? I would like to create a volunteer core that serves as the primary contact for local non-profits searching for free labor to assist in their events.

Charitable interests: Giving back to the community without emptying our pockets

What type of business contacts do you seek? Any business that is looking for a banking relationship
