Company/Title: Adirondack Holistic Health Center, LLC / DBA Massage Works Owner and Licensed Massage Therapist.

Brief Resume: I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2002. I began my career working in Greenwich and Cambridge NY as a independent licensed massage therapist . In 2002 I quit my part time job to work full time at Massage Works in the Queensbury Hotel. I worked at Massage Works for a year and a half until I purchased the building at 26 Saratoga Ave in South Glens Falls when I was 23. In the spring of 2003 I formed Adirondack Holistic Health Center, LLC. I renovated the building with the help of family and friends. I managed the office while continuing to provide therapeutic massage services. In 2007 the opportunity to purchase Massage Works presented itself and I joined Massage Works and Adirondack Holistic Health Center, LLC. At this time I was also working as the regional director for BNI of North Eastern New York. I over saw 24 BNI chapters in the Capital District and Ran 8 myself. I remained in that position until the Falls of 2008 when I resigned to be able to spend more time working in my business. In the fall of 2008 the merger of Massage Works and Adirondack Holistic Health Center, LLC was complete and I moved the entire business operations to our facility in South Glens Falls were I continue to conduct business today.

What do you do?: I manage the office and work as a massage therapist. I specialize in Deep Tissue and Sports Massage. I have extensive experience working with professional athletes and individuals with injury’s. Working with these individual I try to decrease their pain, increase their range of motion (ROM), improve the quality of life and prevent future injury’s.

Education: Certification in Massage Therapy from CNW School of Massage Therapy and NYS License in Massage Therapy (2002), Associates Degree in Social Science and humanities from ACC (2001),
Greenwich High School (1999)

Community Involvement: I volunteer my time and my service for over 30 different charities each year. For example WMHT Telethon, South High Marathon Dance, Feeder Canal Alliance and the American Heart Association.

Hobbies: Hunting, Fishing, Archery, Golf, and spending time with my family

Career aspiration in high school: Find a job that I would love doing. What exactly it was I didn’t know.

First job: Working on a Dairy Farm when I was 11

How did you become a Massage Therapist?: I knew that I wanted to help people and I was interested in health and science. One day while I was receiving physical therapy for a ankle injury and they were using massage to increase circulation and decrease inflammation in the area I could see how beneficial it was and I was hooked on the idea of becoming a massage therapist.

Five years from now I will be: I plan on continuing to manage the office and work as a massage therapist.

What would you change/add about area?: A change in our assessment evaluations. Many of the properties in our area are run down and left that way purposely because the property owners fear an increase in their taxes. If we want our community to grow begin to clean up we need to start rewarding property owners who choose to update their properties, not tax them more.

What type of business contacts do you seek?: HR managers looking to reduce the amount of workman’s comp claims. I can help save them significant money.
